For more than 25 years, Greg Rogers has been developing commercial and residential properties in Canada and the U.S. on behalf of private and institutional investors. More recently, his focus has been on urban mixed use infill development as a senior executive with Minto, and later Timbercreek, both international developers and investment managers. Greg’s track record exceeds 10 million square feet of new development in all asset classes, in all major Canadian cities, as well as Florida and California. In 2019, he returned to his hometown of Winnipeg to lead UM Properties.
Mike Emslie is Chief Financial Officer / Comptroller of the University of Manitoba. He joined UM in 2021 after 14 years at the University of Winnipeg, where he was most recently Vice President, Finance and Administration and a member of the Board for the University of Winnipeg Community Renewal Corporation (UWCRC). Mike has also been in internal and external audit roles with the University of Manitoba, Manitoba Finance, the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, and Grant Thornton. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree.
An alumnus of the University of Manitoba in Arts and Law, Rick Adams recently retired from the practice of law. He had been a Partner with Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP. Rick spent most of his 47 years practicing in the area of real estate law, with particular emphasis on commercial sale, purchase, financing and lease transactions, and real estate development projects. He was frequently called upon to provide expert evidence opinions in real estate litigation matters. In the course of his career, he represented many and varied financial institutions, and proponents seeking to do major development projects, including the development of The Forks and significant downtown Winnipeg developments for the University of Winnipeg.

Lynette Magnus is a designated Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in accounting, finance and corporate planning. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree. Most recently, she was Vice-President and Corporate Controller at Manitoba Telecom Services. Lynette serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors and Audit & Risk Management Committee at the University of Manitoba, is a member of Council and the Audit & Risk Management Committee for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and is a community volunteer with the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba.
An alumnus of the University of Manitoba, Bob Silver is an accomplished business and community leader. As President and co-owner of Western Glove Works, he has helped grow the company’s revenues to upwards of $190 million. Bob is co-owner of the Warehouse One and Urban Barn retail chains, as well as the Winnipeg Free Press, Brandon Sun, CanStar Weeklies and Derksen Printers. He has served on many boards, including CentrePort Canada, the Business Council of Manitoba and the First Peoples Economic Growth Fund. He spearheaded the redevelopment of the Millennium Library, led the Grow Winnipeg initiative of the Jewish Federation and served as Chair of Destination Winnipeg and the United Way of Winnipeg. He has also served as Chancellor of the University of Winnipeg. Bob has received an Order of Manitoba, an Order of Canada and an honourary doctorate from the University of Manitoba.
UM Properties is led by a 10-member Board of Directors. In keeping with corporate by-laws, the majority of directors are independent of the University of Manitoba. The current independent directors have extensive experience and knowledge of real estate development.
